Kardhaus

Scanning business cards at trade shows

Exhibition halls are loud, crowded and often without signal. The cards still need to be in your phone before the evening.

A day at the show

  1. Between conversations

Scan each card as you get it. Recognition runs on the iPhone, so the hall’s Wi-Fi does not matter.

  2. A pile at lunch

Lay several cards on the table, take one photo, and import it from your library: each card becomes its own contact.

  3. Tag the show

One tag for the event keeps the whole day together; open it later to see only those cards.

  4. That evening

Go through the tag, add a note where you remember something, and save the ones you need to iOS Contacts.

Faster than typing, without a lock screen in the way

On an iPhone with Camera Control, set it to Kardhaus and one press opens the scanner, even on a locked phone. The Lock Screen, Control Center and the Action Button work too.

Does it work in airplane mode?
Scanning and recognition do. The map lookup needs a connection and runs when you have one.
What about cards in Japanese or Chinese?
Traditional and Simplified Chinese, English and Japanese are read, and a bilingual card becomes one contact.
